How do I mount my headboard?

Step 1 - Measure and Mark

 

How high do you want your gable to hang? The height of the headboard is a matter of taste and depends on how high/big the bed is. If the bed is a standard size, Ylse recommends that the highest point of the headboard is 70 cm from the highest point of the bed mattress.

When you have determined the height for the end, you mark thinly with a pencil where wall rail B and the associated screws (C and D) should be located. Rail A is already pre-assembled on the back of the gable and is easily hung over rail B. A tip is to use a spirit level to make the rail straight.

 

Step 2 - Screw the rail to the wall

 

Find out what type of wall you have and adapt the installation to the wall. Ylse ships with a universal screw and universal plug that works for both concrete and plaster walls, but it is important that you adapt the installation to your specific wall.

 

If you need to use dowels, drill two holes in the wall at marks C and D that are the same size as the supplied dowels. Attach the plugs to the wall. Then screw the rail into the plugs in the wall. If you do not need to use a dowel, screw the screws directly through the rail and into the wall.

 

Step 3 - Hang and enjoy

 

Hang your headboard on the rail and slide the bed into place.
